Designed to drive medium to high power brushed DC motors, it handles an impressive 40A continuously and up to 80A at peak, making it a high current motor driver suitable for demanding applications. Supporting a wide voltage range of 10V–45V, it operates quietly thanks to 16kHz PWM switching, eliminating the typical whining sound. Packed with smart features including thermal protection, current limiting, and versatile input modes like RC (Radio Control), PWM, analog, and UART, this 10V–45V DC motor driver is ideal for robotics and high-torque motion systems. Additionally, it supports dual-unit operation, simplifying differential drive robot configurations. Whether you're building a combat robot or a powerful mobile platform, the Enhanced SmartDrive40 offers robust and intelligent motor control. Note: Please consider proper wire/cable for the battery and motor, thin jumper wire/cable is not suitable for high current application. It will affect the performance of driver and motor control. We recommend using Multicore Wire AWG14 Red and Multicore Wire AWG14 Black. Features: Bidirectional control of a single brushed DC motor. Support motor voltages ranging from 10 to 45 volts. Maximum current up to 80A peak, progressively reduced to 40A based on temperature. The switching frequency is 16 KHz, which allows for quiet operation. LiPo battery low voltage warning. Thermal protection. Current limit based on temperature. Input modalities include RC (Radio Control), Analog, PWM, Simplified Serial, and Packetized Serial. Manual operation is accomplished via an on-board push button. Enhanced Features: Increased Vin range to 45VDC, allowing you to use larger batteries and control more powerful motors. A responsive current limiting sensor and algorithm help to protect both the driver and your motor. Screw connectors with high amperage capacity for both battery and motor connections.
