The WS2812 is a 16-bit RGB LED that combines a full-color RGB LED and a control circuit into one device. The LED has a 5050 package, making it small and compact, and it is frequently used in LED lighting projects and other applications that require programmable colour control.
Each LED has three color channels (red, green, and blue) and can produce a wide range of colors by adjusting the brightness of each channel. The
LED
is controlled by a single data pin, which allows for daisy-chaining multiple LEDs together to form a chain. This makes it easy to control large arrays of LEDs with a single microcontroller or microprocessor.
It is compatible with a variety of microcontroller like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and others. It supports the popular NeoPixel library, which provides an easy-to-use interface for controlling the LED. The LED operates over a wide voltage range of 4V to 5.5V and consumes low amount of power.

On top of all that, thanks to its flexible backing, this LED Matrix can be bent and bowed to fit onto almost any curvy surface. These panels require a 5V low voltage input for power which needs to be able to source a good amount of current.
Each LED is capable of drawing as much as 60mA (at peak brightness the matrix can draw just over 3.5 Amps at 5 Volts), this adds up so it is suggested to use a 5V 2A power supply.
There are two 3-pin connection ports to the wiring board. Solder wires to the input port and provide 5VDC to the +5V and ground pins, then connect the DIN pin to your microcontroller and make a common ground from the 5V power supply to the microcontroller/Arduino.
