14-Stage Binary Ripple Counter IC - 74HC4020 The 74HC Series 74HC4020 is a 16 Pin 14-Stage Binary Ripple Counter IC having 2V to 6V Operating Voltage range with a 1uA low input current. It has a clock input (CP), an overriding asynchronous master reset input (MR), and 12 buffered parallel outputs (Q0, and Q3 to Q13). The counter advances on the HIGH-to-LOW transition of CP. A HIGH on MR clears all counter stages and forces all outputs LOW, independent of the state of CP. Each counter stage is a static toggle flip-flop. This device features reduced input threshold levels to allow interfacing to TTL logic levels. The 74HC4060 is a 14-stage counter, which the device increments on the falling edge (negative transition) of the input clock, and all their outputs are reset to a low level by applying a logical high on their reset input. The 74HC4060 also has two additional inputs to enable the easy connection of either an RC or crystal oscillator. This device is pin equivalent to the CD4060.
